Google Analytics Plugin for b2evolution 3.2.0

by Chris Nicola 17. June 2009 15:56

When I upgraded my blog software recently it broke the GA plugin I was using. Which is sad cause I like to see all the pretty visitors. I found a new plugin that appeared to work shortly after, but for the past two weeks I have had no visiters (I know, sad panda :'().

I eventually figured it out. The new plugin I found however was also broken.  The plugin neglected (or google changed the script) to add brackets around the GA user number. This was very small so it was hard to notice so I just assumed no one cared about my site (which is also entirely possible but there is no way to be sure when the plugin is broken).

There are several comments on the authors site with no answer so I assume he is not updating it at all anymore. So I have taken it upon myself to fix the plugin as well as package it property (getting b2evo to recognize this plugin requires renaming the file as it was not properly named).  GA plugins are not very complicatedso it isn't much of a change but I will make it available to download here for those who want a trouble free GA plugin for b2evo.

Update: I have removed the download link as it is broken.  I'm not actually sure if I still have the files or if it even works with the latest B2Evo.

might want to fix your plugin posting at b2e since it goes to your blog main page and not to this posting

Nicole, thanks for letting me know, but I can't edit the posting.

When you make a plugin submission, the b2evo guys approve and then post it.  Perhaps they made an error with the link (though perhaps it was me).  I also changed the url to these pages so that could have cause it too.

I will see if I can get it fixed.  Thanks.

First, thanks for the plugin. I really found it odd that we don't have more of these and up-to-date for b2e. That's just sad.

When I try to download this plugin, I get a "HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found". Can you confirm the URL for googleanalytics_plugin.zip ?

I was sure I had posted a comment here just a moment ago Frown I guess I didn't so I'll try again.

First of all, thanks for the plugin. That's a shame we don't have more of these that are up-to-date for b2e.

Further more, can you check the link to the .zip file because it seems to be broken.

Thanks in advance!
